I write this letter to you on behalf of the Committee of The Friends of Mollow Hospital.
The message from the Committee is that of a big THANKS to you and your helpers who down through the years undertook a Church Gate Collection, once every year, to raise funds to support the work of the Doctors and Nurses in the Hospital and to enhance the Patient facilities in Mallow General Hospital.
When the Covid 19 Pandemic started, in March 2020, these Church Gate
Collections had to stop. The Committee has now reflected on the best way of raising funds to support Mallow General Hospital. The Friends supports the Hospital through the purchase of necessary hospital equipment that would not otherwise be provided by the HSE because of its budgetary constraints.
At the Annual General 2022 a decision was taken that, for many reasons, Church Gate Collections for the Friends of Mallow Hospital are not the way for us to fundraise from now on. Therefore, we will NOT be applying for Church Gate Collection Permits for 2023.
Fundraising for the Friends will now focus on the following three areas of activities:
- Events such as Concerts, Sponsored Walks, Classic Car Runs and Fundraising Dances such a list is endless.
- Donations from individuals who have had a positive interaction with Mallow General Hospital.
- Legacy type donations:-
This is where people support the Hospital through the Friends by leaving money to the organisation in their Wills.
As our Organisation is registered with the Charities Regulator and has Charitable Status in the eyes of the Revenue Commissioners, the Committee will also explore ways of getting Corporate Funding with Companies availing of Tax benefits for such donations.
Once again a big thanks to you for organising the Church Gate Collections d0’vvn through the years: And a special thanks to everyone in your Community who continuously supported these collections.
